So I watched it and I had watched it before but I tend to zone out on it because it hardly grabbed my attention. Like the Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat movies, there is a lot of fighting in it. The fight scenes are ok. They paired them up with the likes of Zangief vs Blanka, or Chun Li vs Vega and whatnot so its a good pairing as far as fighting is concerned.
If there is one thing it got right, its the characters. No longer are Ryu and Ken side comic relief characters, a cardinal sin from the movie. They are actually just like their video game counterparts and finally a focal point of the movie. Apparently M.Bison (who looks like an alien) is dispatching Sagat Terminators to find all his combatants for his tournament. Many things happen but I swear if I didn't play the games (which I suck at) I wouldn't know who these characters are. I can pictures parents asking their kids, "Who's that? Why is he there?" They throw in all the characters at some point or another, and it makes the story confusing because if you're looking at it from a story standpoint, you will be lost.
The animation is top notch and this movie could have been easily cutscenes for the video game but instead they stretched it out to a full length movie. It's not something I would venture into again. I had more fun with the Street Fighter movie, honestly, but there was some effort here and hey, Chun Li is in the shower. I prefer Cammy but I'll settle for Chun Li.
