The movie was pretty good. I thought the set pieces were really amazing with some well choreographed fight sequences. At first it seemed like the story was all over the place in the beginning but I caught on to what was going on with a bit of dialogue. I'm not sure how closely it follows Greek mythology or anything but some of their hats looked ridiculous. Seriously, why isn't anybody laughing at any of these people with their silly hats?
The story follows Theseus (future Superman Henry Cavill) embarking on a quest after his mom dies by the hands of Mickey Rourke (who plays a really good bad guy)for something called the Epirus Bow, that magically has exploding arrows. Evil Mickey Rourke wants this to wage a war against humanity. This is something I was left wondering: If this evil Mickey Rourke character kills his own men, sometimes for no reason, why can't all of his men just split and leave. He would have nothing. I guess that's part of a dictatorship but man, who wants to serve someone like that?
Was it worth my $17.75? Yes and no. Frieda Pinto was gorgeous in it and she does get naked. It made me glad to see this movie. I just wish it was on DVD so I can freeze frame it or something. I know, I'm a typical male.
